Russell Armstrong is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner and owner of AIS Financial in Commerce, Texas. He is an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) with LPL Financial. LPL Financial is a registered investment advisor (RIA) and broker/dealer.
Russell is a 1978 graduate of Bonham High School and a 1981 graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce or TAMU-C) earning a BBA in Finance. He is a 1990 graduate of The Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU, and a 1997 graduate of the College for Financial Planning in Denver Colorado. He earned his CFP® marks on January 14, 1998.
Russell has extensive banking, business, investment, and financial planning experience and shares this knowledge with every client he serves.
Russell is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Commerce Rotary Club, a Lifetime Member of the Texas A&M University - Commerce (TAMU-C) Alumni Association and a member of the local Chapter. He currently serves as Chairman of the College of Business Leadership Council. He is a former member of the TAMU-C Foundation. In 2019, Russell was named a Distinguished Alumni of the university. Russell & his wife are members of Family Fellowship of Greenville.
Russell's hobbies include flying, golf, tennis, and music. Russell volunteers his time as a Command Pilot for Angel Flight South Central (www.angelflightsc.org). He is the founding member of the Bois d' Arc Dixieland Band (www.thedixielandband.com) and plays tenor banjo with the group. Russell resides in Commerce with his wife Lee. They have two children, Matthew & Rachel, a daughter-in-law Jillian, and three beautiful granddaughters, Hattie, Annie, and Lydia.
